エドマンド辺境伯領の森で、人を襲うという“彷徨えし獣”。その正体がマリアンヌだと主張する紋章学者が現れるが……
Something is attacking people in the forests of Margrave Edmund's territory, and a Crest Scholar blames Marianne.

？？？: ……邪魔をするな。おとなしくその娘をこちらに渡せ。
???: Don’t interfere. Just hand the girl over to me.
Byleth: 断る Never.
？？？: 悪いことは言わん。その娘に関われば命を落とすぞ。
???: I’m telling you this for your own good. You’re putting yourself in danger by associating with her.
マリアンヌ: ………………。

？？？: ……エドマンド領の南方にある森に、“彷徨えし獣”が出没すると知っているか？
夜な夜な人を襲っては、森の奥へと引きずり込み、殺しているという。
その獣の正体が……そこにいる娘だ！
???: Do you know of the Wandering Beast stalking in the wood in the Edmund territory? It is said that it attacks people every night and drags them off to feast. The true identity of the Wandering Beast… Is that girl right there!
マリアンヌ: ち、違います！ 私、そんなこと……
Marianne: No! I would never…
Byleth: もう帰ってくれ Get out of here!
？？？: フン……いずれ尻尾を掴んでやるぞ……。
???: No matter. I’ll get the evidence I need…
マリアンヌ: すみません、ご迷惑を……。
Marianne: My apologies for you getting involved in that…
Byleth: 何があった？ What happened?
マリアンヌ: ……先生には、正直にお話しします。あの男は、紋章学者です。
最初は父に付き纏っていました。父が失踪してからは、私に……

Byleth: なぜ？ Why is he following you?
マリアンヌ: 私が、父の宿していた紋章を……モーリスの紋章を継いでいるからです。
Marianne: The Crest that my father bore and was passed down to me… It was… Maurice’s Crest.
Byleth: モーリスの紋章……？ Maurice’s Crest?
マリアンヌ: またの名を、獣の紋章……。
かつてフォドラを救ったとされる英雄は、12人いたとされています。
解放王ネメシス、フォドラの十傑、そしてもう1人が……モーリスです。
Marianne: Yes. It’s also known as…the Crest of the Beast… It’s said there were once 12 heroes who saved Fódlan. There was the King of Liberation, Nemesis…the 10 Elites, and finally…Maurice.
マリアンヌ: モーリスはある日突然、恐ろしい獣に姿を変え、罪のない人々を殺戮したといいます。
……ゴーティエ家のマイクランさんが黒き獣となったのと同じかもしれません。
紋章石に秘められた負の力……それが、モーリスを獣に変えてしまったのでしょう。
忌み嫌われる存在となったモーリスは、十傑と並ぶ英雄の栄誉も抹消されました。
一族郎党も討伐され、モーリスの呪われた血筋は絶えたかに思われた……。
Marianne: One day, Maurice suddenly transformed into a hideous beast and slaughtered innocent people.
It was like when Miklan of House Gautier turned into a Black Beast.
The negative energy dwelling within his Crest turned Maurice into a monster.
The people of Fódlan grew to despise him, and he was stripped of his honor.
His whole clan was conquered, and it was believed that his bloodline had vanished…
マリアンヌ: ですが、モーリスの紋章を継ぐ血筋は、今もいくつか存在しているのです。
私の家系も……その一つでした。
モーリスの紋章は災厄の象徴。世間では、関われば不幸になると言われています。
紋章を宿す者は、夜な夜な獣と化して人を殺す……とも。
Marianne: But even now, there exist a few descendants who have inherited Maurice’s Crest, and his curse.
My family line…is one of them.
Maurice’s Crest is a symbol of disaster. Anyone who comes in contact with it is met with great misfortune.
Those who carry the Crest became beasts at night and slaughter innocent people.
Byleth: さっきの話…… What that man mentioned earlier…
マリアンヌ: はい、その噂の元となっているのが、森を徘徊する“彷徨えし獣”です……。
伝承にある、獣と化したモーリスの姿と、似た姿をしているとかで……。
Marianne: Yes, the rumor about the Wandering Beast in the woods… People are saying the creature is similar in appearance to Maurice’s bestial form.
Byleth: 討伐すれば疑いも晴れるのでは？ If it’s defeated, wouldn’t the rumor be dispelled?
マリアンヌ: それは、そうかもしれませんが……私の力では……
もしも、先生や仲間の皆さんが、一緒に来てくれるなら……
Marianne: That may be true but…I doubt I could do it on my own. If you and some of the other students came with me though…

マリアンヌ: ありがとうございます……！ですが、あの……
皆さんに、私の紋章のことは言わないでおいてもらえますか？
Marianne: Thank you! But, um... Promise you won't tell anyone about my Crest?
マリアンヌ: すみません……。では、よろしくお願いします……！
Marianne: I'm sorry to have to ask...but thank you!
Choice 2: 考えたい（準備に戻る） I'll think about it. (Return to previous screen)
マリアンヌ: ……私の個人的な事情ですので、無理なようであれば仕方ありません。
でも、もし力を貸していただけるなら……私、待っていますので……。
Marianne: It is my personal matter, so I can't expect you to get involved. But if you change your mind...I'll be waiting.

マリアンヌ: 本当にいた……。噂に聞く“彷徨えし獣”というのは、あなたね……？
Marianne: A-are you really the Wandering Beast that people talk about?
彷徨えし獣: ……おぬし、我が紋章を宿すか。ここに何をしに来た？
Wandering Beast: You... Do you bear our Crest? For what purpose did you come here?
マリアンヌ: 我が紋章……？あなた、もしかして……。
Marianne: Our Crest? Does that mean...
彷徨えし獣: ……おぬしらの気配、血に飢えた魔獣どもが嗅ぎつけたようだぞ。

初めて戦闘した後
マリアンヌ: 霧の中に魔獣が……？ 皆さん、無事に進んでこられるでしょうか……。
Marianne: Demonic Beasts? Everyone... Please move carefully!
彷徨えし獣: この森は魔獣の巣……。もはや生きては出られまいぞ……。
Wandering Beast: This forest is the den of Demonic Beasts. You will be lucky to make it out alive.
初めて援軍の巨狼を攻撃した時
マリアンヌ: 今度は狼が……！
中央エリア侵入時
彷徨える獣: わしの獣の血が騒ぐ……。こうなっては己では止められぬ……！
Wandering Beast: My beastly blood is roused... You will not be able to stop me!

彷徨えし獣: もはや止まらぬ。おぬしの血肉を喰らうまで……！
Wandering Beast: Nothing will stop me...from feasting upon your flesh and blood!

ああ……おぬしが、わしを解放してくれるのか！
Wandering Beast: That sword... It's the sword of the king!
Are you the one who can liberate me?!

クロード: マイクランの……黒き獣と似た姿……まさか、英雄の遺産が……？
Claude: That looks just like Miklan's Black Beast... Could a Hero's Relic be at fault?
彷徨えし獣: 英雄か……懐かしき言葉だな……。
Wandering Beast: Hero... That is a word that takes me back.
クロード: 懐かしい？あんたは……
Claude: Takes you back? You... Are you...
彷徨えし獣: 今更、語る口は持たぬ……！
Wandering Beast: After so long, I cannot speak of it.
マリアンヌ vs 彷徨えし獣
彷徨えし獣: もはや止まらぬ。おぬしの血肉を喰らうまで……！
Wandering Beast: Nothing will stop me...from feasting upon your flesh and blood!
マリアンヌ: そんな……いけません！
Marianne: No! I won't let you!
彷徨えし獣撃破
彷徨えし獣: よ、よくぞやった……これで千年の悪夢がようやく終わる……
我が紋章を継ぐ者よ……この体が朽ちたなら、剣は……おぬしに……
Wandering Beast: Well done... Finally, this nightmare of a thousand years is at its end.
Oh, inheritor of my Crest...if this body is to decay, then the sword... I leave it to you...
マリアンヌ: ………………。

マリアンヌ: 先生……助かりました。ありがとうございます……。
あの……彷徨えし獣の正体は、たぶん……いえ、すみません……今は戦わないと……！

彷徨えし獣の体がみるみる風化して……人の骨と、この剣だけが残って……
きっと、あの獣の正体は……
Marianne: I still can’t believe what we saw in that forest… The Wandering Beast’s eviscerated body… Only human bones and this sword remaining. Surely the creature’s true identity was…
紋章学者: ……失礼する。
Crest Scholar: I’m sorry…
マリアンヌ: あなた、また……。
Marianne: You again?
紋章学者: 彷徨えし獣が討伐されたと聞いたぞ。しかし、それで疑いが晴れたと思うのか？
君が獣ではないという理屈は成立しないし、そもそも本当に討伐されたのかも疑わし……
……！？ その剣は……！
Crest Scholar: I heard rumor that the Wandering Beast was slain, but do you really believe that frees you of suspicion?
Without proof that it was slain, the argument that you are not a beast does not stand. Furthermore, I… Huh?
Oh! That sword!
マリアンヌ: 彷徨えし獣を倒したら、この剣が……。
Marianne: When the Wandering Beast was defeated, this sword…
紋章学者: ……その剣の紋章石に刻まれているのは、紛れもなく獣の……モーリスの紋章！
しかし、すでに失われたはずの魔剣を、なぜ彷徨えし獣が……？
いや、待て……モーリスの伝承によれば、彼は最後までその剣を離さなかったと……
つまり……なるほど、そういうことか。
……すまない、私が間違っていたようだ。今日のところは、これで失礼する。
Crest Scholar: It’s unmistakable! Carved into that sword’s Crest stone is Maurice’s Crest! But how would the lost Magic Blade end up with the Wandering Beast? According to what I know of Maurice’s story, he didn’t let go of the sword until the very end. That must mean… I see. So that’s what happened… My apologies, it seems I was mistaken. I must be going.
マリアンヌ: やっぱり、あの獣は……。
Marianne: So the Wandering Beast was…

Marianne: He was roaming the dark woods for over a thousand years, suffering for his murderous past.
Choice 2: 獣の紋章の所持者だった Someone who bears the Crest of the Beast.
マリアンヌ: いえ、あれはきっとモーリス本人だったのでしょう……。
Marianne: No, I’m sure that was Maurice himself.
マリアンヌ: 千年以上も、昏い森を彷徨い続け、殺戮の衝動に苦しんでいたんですね……。
Marianne: He was roaming the dark woods for over a thousand years, suffering for his murderous past.
Byleth: 終わらせてあげられて良かった Good thing you were able to put an end to it.
マリアンヌ: そうですね……本当に……。
それに……私自身、解放されたような……そんな気持ちがします……。
私に流れている血は、もう獣の血じゃない。ただの人の血に戻ったのですから……。
Marianne: It’s true… And because of that, I feel as though…my curse has been lifted. The blood of a beast no longer flows through me. I feel human for once.
マリアンヌ: 先生、ありがとうございました……。私だけでは、何もできなかったと思います。
今回のことがなければ、私はずっと、自分を嫌い続けていたに違いありません。
